Backstabbery and brightness/invis |
|
Looking ahead to subclass/racial builds and I have a question regarding
backstab checks: does invisibility override any concerns regarding brightness
provided the target doesn't have detects up?
More specifically, would a shadowdancer quickling have greater success with
backstab as a midround attack than a shadowdancer with a race that has
dark_vision, dark eq, and doesn't utilize a light source?
I'm not entirely sure how the brightness check plays into the calculation for
success, and I also don't know how the invis affect on quicklings works in
combat. Presumably, their racial invis affect isn't like the improved invis
spell and remain up throughout combat. Does invis reapply before every round
and then drop as soon as an attack registers? If it remains down during combat,
does that mean it does nothing to increase odds of landing backstab as a
midround attack?
Sincerely,
