Subject Races revisited
I'd like to touch on something I brought up not too long ago about having not only more variety in races but also adding to the lines of existing races. For example we have a lot of elves. Halfelf, Elf, Drow, High Elf. And if you want to get really into it Drider does derive from Drow. I'd propose another to not only add to the line but break the mold a bit. Athasian elf. Or since we aren't D&D, Desert Elf. Tall lithe hardy runners of the desert. Dwarves could use expanding. Gnomes simply need existence. There are plenty to be built upon. For instance: Rakshaasa and Wemic to carry on from Khan. Banshee or Phantom to carry on from Wraith. How many Bullywugs you run into going into the Forest Dark and Dreadful? They would make a good race. As would Saurial to expand upon Saurin and Draconian. From Golem to Warforge. Not to mention the fact that we have Halforcs with no Orcs for them to come from. This tactic could not only simply give more choices but more chance to stick with an original vision of a character someone make. I have characters that are multiple remorts behind on their race to remort ratio just because there is nothing left that fits that character. Yes I realize that taking a race again does raise the stats but there is more to it than just stats. Race skills and specialties start playing a bigger role the higher up you go also. If you haven't figured it out yet I will state that I do not mean that these races should be put into future remort tiers but that existing tiers could very easily be added to. I don't see the likes of Gnomes or Orcs being remort 8-10. I've had this discussion with multiple people before. I know I'm not the only one who thinks it makes sense. List of some possible races: Desert elf, Banshee, Saurial, Wemic, Rakshaasa Gnome, Warforge, Bullywug, Phantom, Titan, Gorgon, Android, Valkyrie. Sketch
