Lately it kinda feels like Gunslingers have become a really weak and rather
boring class. Burst, Aim, Intimidate, Snipe, and Bash. This is all we have
available to use, really. Semi and Full auto are extremely situational and
to be honest they're rarely worth using anyway because of the high jam rate.
Burst rarely lands more than 3 hits (not sure about attacks because of gag
miss, but I have over 400 HR with burst mastered). This is comparable maybe
to double strike with mastery.
Gunslingers get sidekicks to help, but otherwise have no defensive skills.
The fact that their weapons ignore auras is great, but it also means we can't
parry. Gunslingers don't get third attack, but they also don't get a shield
to block with.
Offensively there just aren't really any big damage skills. Aim foot is a
coin toss type skill. Aim foot has a chance to stun (which bash does not) but
it also seems to destance a lot less often than bash. Aim hand is just a type
of disarm, and aim head actually works so infrequently that it's not worth
using. Snipe also doesn't seem to behead very much.
What Gunslingers would really benefit from is having 1 or 2 more combat
skills to use. One that does some heavier damage (thinking unearth, fatal
blow), and one that maybe has some kind of utility. Preferably not with 2
full rounds of lag. Having another stance to use would be nice since right
now our only option when tanking (i.e playing solo) is target practice.
