I am very much for the direction the vampire nerfs/changes have been taken in.
I feel that overall, it's still strong, a great end game pick, no longer the
only pick for leveling, and most importantly it's no longer imbalanced. While
it was super useful to level that fast, leveling with a vampire now is a lot
more hands on and interactive. I love that.

I've also been experiencing these changes on a non-ascended ninja primarily who
also has full qeq. So pretty well rounded, lower etl, and typically in a group
or duo. Due to that I only really noticed today when having to heal more with
heavier corpses that drain life is non-combat casting. Meaning there is no
round damage while lagged/healing... Not sure if this was intended? Either
way, I'd suggest it be combat casting. Moves from stances and attacks still
drain just as hard as if you were attacking. You just end up relying solely on
your vampire companion for damage. That was one of the lamest factors of the
old vampire--that your pet was typically stronger than you. This also makes it
far less appealing to hitters who deal most if not a significant portion of
their damage/aoe through attacks. Casters can benefit more from their spiking
nuke damage in between rounds.
