Drop Kick and Cheap Shot |
|
Two new skills for Thieves with interesting mechanics. I really would like to
see thieves become utility fighters with increased disabling prowess, and up
their incentive to do so. Stuff like anklebiter, trips, mugging. Being
sneaky, cunning bastards to win. Flanking did this in a simple format by
hiding behind others. These will be in similar, but more interactively d*ckish
fashion.
Drop Kick - High chance to deliver a powerful blow to your target if it is
open north the ground, once per round, provided it is still down or brought
back down.
Possibly two if the Thief has achieved very high amounts of Dex.
Think Kung fu with a condition to proc it and keep proc'ing it, but a lot
more damage as reward and to compensate for not being a constant passive. Also
countered mostly by Flying unless you have other means than tripping (allies).
Blackjack could also trigger this. Higher level skill req.
Cheap Shot - Any time the target isn't looking you are able to get in very
short lag attacks for moderate damage. Know how some skills/spells can't
be used if you are blind or in the dark? *cough, make stealing lights a thing*
This is the opposite of that mechanic, and could allow the thief to attack
with drac-like lag, out of combat if they so choose (trigger flanking). So,
again if you land a blackjack or open the fight with a blind you can
start wailing on someone. Might need to put a cap on how many cheap shots you
can get in before the target is able to engage you, but provided they stay
blind, damage can still be dealt continuously with this skill.
