PK eq and PK stats |
|
Okay, my theories on the two previous ideas... PK eq and PK stats in who
profile.
1. PK EQ...
This is kinda a bad idea. It usurps the quest eq, and allows for those with
too much power to obtain even more power. So, all the ppl with the best gear
are the best pkers. If those people also get pk gear first, they'll
dominate the entire mud and PK won't be fun. Further, you're hurting everyone
that doesn't PK by releasing new awesome EQ. Perhaps maybe allowing PK
gear to be worn only in specific zones would work... but it seems like
a lot of hassle for something that is only an iffy idea at best.
So my main problems with PK EQ are that it ruins the status of PvE gear
and forces everyone to PK in order to get the best gear (which isn't
what Aarchon is about). AND, that it only makes the strong players
even stronger.
2. PK Stats...
PK stats being semi-removed are important. People do want to measure their
pk abilities, and so we need to have some sort of way to measure it.
Still, as mentioned, we definitely need to remove direct stat measurements.
2 options as I see them... a resetting window (perhaps every week, or 1 month)
where people can see their weekly or monthly stats. I'd prefer 1 week over 1
month. Maybe 2 weeks max.
Second option is my favorite. Only show a ratio message. So, let's say I've
killed 4 people and died 2 times. This makes my ratio 2:1. This specifc ratio
might be "Adventurer." If I had a 1:2 ratio, the ratio message might be
"Slow-Starter." So you just see like PK Assessment: Slow-Starter.
