Ascension Religion helpfile |
|
The religion helpfile is outdated, since it's for a mechanic that no longer
exists: It should probably be combined with the ascension helpfile.
I also have added an ascension quest tips helpfile, since the first was getting
pretty long. I considered adding one for the achievement bosses that contains
their zones (since I had trouble in the past figuring out where these were),
but I think exploration is part of the fun here and it probably shouldn't just
be in the help file.
ascension quests religion mysti
In order to Ascend you must be sponsored by an Elder God, that is,
Rimbol, Smote, Mephiston or Siva. In order to be sponsored by them you must
sacrifice a corpse in the presence of their high priest who can be found in
their respective temples at the summot of Kalmara. This will allow you to
join their religion. From the summit, go NE for Smote's Temple, SW for Siva's
Temple, NW for Rimbol's Temple and SE for Mephistons Temple.
In addition, you need to kill 25 of the achievement bosses. Type 'achievement
boss' to se the list of bosses, including ones you have already killed. The
goblin can only be found in the Initiation and thus can only be killed before
level 6.
You must accumulate faith points with them, and then complete 3
"ascension quests" at every rank. You may get faith despite not reaching
the next rank, but cannot gain the next rank without completing the quests.
The ascension quests are available from the ascension quest masters located
in the temple of each religion.
The ranks for religion are as follows, with the amount of faith points required
to reach them:
* Neophyte
* Acolyte (100 faith)
* Follower (250)
* Evangelist (450)
* Prophet (700)
* Saint (1000)
To get faith points you must sacrifice corpses or things of value. Objects or
gold work, and 1k gold = 1 faith point. The higher level the corpse the more
likely you will get a faith point upon sacrficing.
Once you reach the rank of Saint, you can ascend by typing "ascend" anywhere in
the world. To ascend a second time, after you reach level 100, you do NOT have
to do the quests or gain ranks again.
In addition, faith points may be spent at the high priest to gain god
blessings. Simply go to your high priest and say "list" to see the options.
Then say the name of your blessing and kneel to receive the blessing. This
reduces your faith points, so if you are trying to become a Saint, it may be
worth holding on to your FP until you achieve the rank required to ascend.
The righteous mystic found NW of Palace Square performs a similar role, but for
gold and QP instead of faith points. He is available for all players,
regardless of religion.
ascension quest tips
There are 3 quests to perform at each rank.
The first involves exploring a special area to gain relics. Once you enter this
zone, you need to gain the required relics (found one per floor) to complete
the quest. Beware! Each floor has a number of guards that you may need to fight
or flee past in order to reach the room containing the relic. Going up or down
will lead you to the next floor.
The second involves assembling a book with missing pages, then giving them to a
specific NPC. The pages can be found by killing mobs in higher level zones.
Only 1 page can be found per zone. You may return to the quest master, and type
quest info or quest status to see which zones you have already found the book
for.
The last involves invading another Gods temple and breaking the altars. These
temples can all be found in Bastion. Use the command "break altar" once you
reach the altar to break them. These temples are protected by guards or have
simple puzzles you need to solve in order to reach the altar. Without spoiling
too much, here are some clues for the more esoteric temples:
Lilith: Don't forget the try command!
Swayde: A scales is used to determine the weight of something. The heavy side
of the
scale will lower.
Quirky: That Jester is annoying isn't he?
Anyone think anything is missing/needs to be added?
