Tatts |

I have been trying to develop an argument that does not sound like a
whiny player not getting the best of everything when it comes to the
resetting of Tatts.
Now I will admit I have not been around that long and I do not completely
understand the mechanics of stats etc ....
But with that said while the old Sphinx tatt did require a lot of OP
points to create what did it really do for you? 3 to 4 points on a given
stat does not seem to do much. Also ... for the 2500 tatts I never fully
understood ... do they give both bonuses when you have trans eq? Ie
a greater Wyrm at +20 [+5} would give you 25 dr with trans eq?
Anyways ... when you compare adding 3 points to every stat as compared
to 20 or 25 dr or 200 hp? is it really an equivalent bonus? And given the
level of work required to get them does that really fall in line with some
of the harder items in the game?
Compare a Sphinx Tatt to say a Ring of Everything. Which one takes more time?
I can understand OP systems for item equilibrium but any system like that
has its vulnerabilities. And how does a tatt, especially at 2500 qps, compare
to other quest rewards ... like say the top end weapons ... I mean if you had
7500 qps do you really think 3 tatts are equivalent to a fairly decent set of
quest eq?
I understand the OP perspective but that is supposed to be a guide or baseline
to start. You can always argue the merit of balance in terms of game play
overriding the base rules.
If I was to reccomend one immediate change that likely would not have a
significant impact but might make the tatts at least look more in line as a
reward for 10-15 hours of work then make the secondary benefits of the stat
tatts a +4 instead of a +2. At least it looks better.
Also if you decide that you want to change tatts you are imposing a
significant penalty to changing at this time. Even at 90% refund that still
means 1.5 to 2 hours to replace the last 10% assuming rewards in the 40 range
consistently.
Anyway, it is my first rambling and I might not be making sense. Ultimately
aligning the tatts to the OP system appears to have made the 2500qps tatts
an exceedingly bad investment now and changing them is a large amount of work.
