| Ok, here's what I believe happened with Hattori and Veris: Hattori had an angel and a city guard charmed. The charm on angel had worn off, but the angel was still grouped. Veris was fighting that angel when he joined the group. First the city guard autoassisted Veris attacking the angel. Next Hattori autoassisted Veris attacking the angel. First part of attacking the angel are area attacks against people fighting group members (melee skill and/or kamikaze). First in the room was Veris, who was attacking the angel which was still a group member (you see where this is headed...). At this point a safety-check was missing so the attack against Veris happened. Since Hattori was not fighting anyone yet, Veris was set as Hattori's target. When dealing damage (and for subsequent attacks), safety-checks passed since Hattori was already fighting Veris (this works as intended).
