| The benefits of the current stat system are: * Worth of +stat bonus relative to +hp/damroll/hitroll etc. is more constant w.r.t. level (bonuses are proportional to level, but +X stats typically provides higher effective bonus at low level). * Reduces min-maxing. * Allows more flexibility in building eq/spell bonuses (more fine-grained). I believe that's worth the inconvenience of having a non-straight-forward stat system. |
