To be the "devil's advocate" per say, I would be inclined to lean toward the
side that doesn't show any additional information about how soon an affect
is about to wear off. This would make the person casting the spell/skill
have to reapply it often enough to keep their target disabled. Adding a
wearing off message would make the game built towards an elitist aspect that
could be further aided with new triggers so that spells/skills become
transparent.
If you want a new message to show when each and every spell wears off your
victim, then there would be changes to every malediction in the game. IMHO
this wouldn't help game balance at all.
