Subject Zone Feedback
Just wanted to get some more written feedback from you guys on what you prefer in a zone. I posted something like this a while back and the consensus was that players wanted more solo/small group zones. The big group zones just don't make as much sense with our current player base. One of the things we've tried to do is incorporate more interesting fight mechanics. We've also tried to make zones that are a little more repeatable / farmable. That way you hopefully don't just run the zone a few times, get what you need, and never go back. The translucent tokens are a good example of this. You can now earn them in multiple zones, and use them to upgrade your equipment in multiple zones. That way if someone wants to run something like Galaxy and you already have all the gear you need from there, you might be enticed to run it and pick up a token in the process. Part of the way we've accomplished this is through lower/random drop rates. In particular, the Redwater Mine zone can be ran rather quickly and so we thought that a 25% drop rate on 2 mobs (50% chance of item, 1/12 chance of getting the exact item you want) was adequate. It's always easier to tune an instance down than it is to tune one up. We hear your feedback and we appreciate it, when it's provided in a constructive manner. The reason I always ask for notes is because it's easier for 4 imms to review and discuss notes, than it is for us to say "hey a bunch of players feel this way" but only 1 out of the 4 imms see that feedback. Notes are also hopefully a way to provide a little more detailed feedback and put all of your thoughts in one place. So here are some questions for you guys: 1. More zones that are smaller, or less zones that are bigger? 2. Solo / 2-person zones, or larger group zones? 3. Get the exact items you want more frequently (Pyramid) or run a zone more frequently but less specific gear (Tunnel) 4. Better "rating" EQ that's hard to get, or a bigger EQ selection that isn't quite as powerful (i.e we can have 6 helms to choose from that are all lower rating, or we can have 1 caster / 1 hitter helm that are both high in stats) There is a tremendous amount of work that goes into building a zone, and so of course when something gets released we want players to enjoy it, but we also don't like seeing a zone get figured out, ran, and never looked at again after a few pieces of the best EQ have been gathered. So what do you guys like? It's silly for us to build something that doesn't interest you.
