my r10 race feedback |
|
Was going to post this on tester but worried it won't get any exposure. We are
approaching the completion of r10 and I don't want race testing/balance to be
unfinished when r10 is finally done ;)
Archon:
Super useful as a support race because of the aura of menace bonus. Good for
fighter classes who want sanctuary/bless for solo-buffing as well. For someone
like a Paladin, it might allow them to tank really effectively when combining
the aura bonus with something like Swayde's mercy, with a bonus to smite dispel
chance. Although smite dispel isn't common because of the alignment
requirement. I like the perm affects and the vuln/resists.
Behemoth:
I just can't seem to find a good reason to pick this race over any other race
right now. Rake and Brutal Damage is some nice passive damage bonus, but what
class do I see picking this race? Razor claws requires unarmed and unstanced,
so that leaves basically monk and ninja for 10-15 levels until they get a
stance. I don't think rake is worth picking over the bonuses from ettin,
dragonborn, or quickling. Hunt is nice but it's really not a game changer in
any way. I'm not sure what to add here but the race feels more like an r6 or r7
race right now.
Dragonborn:
Seems like draconic breath is pretty solid and I love regeneration too. Having
scales is a nice touch. I don't think the race is really lacking but it might
be nice to see them get dark_vision as an affect or war cry as a racial.
Mummy:
I didn't think this race had much merit until testing it, but I think it could
play a strong role in group composition. Mummy rot seems to land really often
and should help a lot in big boss fights, and even while solo fighting. Cursed
wound on the other hand I don't see having a ton of merit outside of PK. There
are only a few mobs who heal during their fights, but maybe we'll change that
with some of the level 100 areas. Vuln Fire/Holy are a pretty big deal, so I'm
really curious to see what other players think of this race.
Quickling:
This race plays quite well with the addition of advanced skills. The damage
output from the second/third attack bonuses are pretty significant, and it
seems like it makes a great gunslinger or gladiator race for high damage output
in large group fights.
Warforged:
Another race that seemed kinda strange at first because the bonuses lent well
to tanking classes but not to others. With advanced skills this is a no-brainer
pick for anyone who wants a serious tank character. For casters it might not
be super useful but I will probably mage a warforged mage just to see if having
a 20% block rate is worth a small loss of focus bonus.
