re pkill, limits, etc. |
|
The reason that the limit for pkill removal is 90 days and not shorter (like
a week) is because it opens up windows for abuse. Shorter durations would
(and has in the past) allowed players who were not pkill to hunt down
someone who IS pkill, turn their pkill on, attack them, and kill them. Then,
with a short window needed to turn pkill back off, they would turn it off
and suffer none of the risk, while getting a free/easy kill.
We're content with the 90 day window at this time for a few reasons.
1) The help file fairly adequately outlines the risk.
2) PKill is not mandatory
3) PKill is restricted (level ranges)
4) PKill death does not result in the loss of equipment
To Rikailin specifically -- I understand your frustration with players not
waiting for your fight to finish, etc., but that is and always has been
the nature of pkill. It's a game of cat and mouse. When someone logs on
you should immediately check if they are PK (use the finger command if you
can't see them on the who list). Maybe delay your next fight, change areas,
etc. I could go on with Pkill survival tips for an hour but this note is
not the forum for that.
Death by pkill ultimately only results in a loss of exp and possibly a train
invested into hp/mana/move. Death is not very severe here, and if players
willingly enable PKill, then they should be required to participate in it
for a reasonable period of time. Not turn it on, pkill someone, then turn
it off.
