Blizzardy:
I think you're asking about changing the name of your character in game, and
not about renaming EQ. If I am correct, I don't think it's something we ever
plan on doing. It requires manual editing of the pfile currently. Restrings
are different.
Harmoni:
I agree with your statement that they're basically second rate ninjas/assassins
as they are currently. I think the flee/backstab technique is definitely one
that we could pursue and I think you have a few good ideas for skills. Here
are some ideas I came up with a while ago.. I think they tie in to what you
are saying as well.
Caltrops - Caltrops lay on the ground similar to a snare, however once someone
steps on caltrops twice their feet become pierced leaving a blood trail
Smoke Bomb - When an opponent is affected by smoke bomb, all room descriptions
appear to them as "Thick Smoke!" and no exits. Only lasts 2-3 ticks
I like the "cripple" thing.. anything that makes combat more interesting is
a plus in my book. Targeting different limbs/parts of the body for different
affects makes combat a lot more interesting.
One other route I've thought about taking Thieves, is the "Damage over
Time" route. Thieves could get a few different skills that they use on their
opponent that do damage over 0-3 ticks. This lets Thieves inflict a few
major wounds on their opponent to do damage and weaken them with possible
maledictions.
Psalter:
I think we've briefly talked about this idea before. I think it's a pretty
good idea, but it's something that if we were to implement, should have
been done practically at the beginning of the game. It also takes away
from the multi-classing that we have planned as Maed mentioned.
