Combo Attacks |
|
An idea I've been working on but need some feedback/ideas/input for, are combo
attacks. The basic premises is this: You use certain skills/spells to generate
combo points. The points go away if they aren't used within a certain number of
ticks. To use the points, you use a "finishing move" or some kind of special
ability basically. This gives us a lot of flexibility on introducing more
powerful skills/spells for each class. I've been working on this for a few
reasons:
1) It makes combat more interesting by adding a new mechanic
2) It encourages the use of multiple skills/spells. Currently I plan to target
the under-utilized skills/spells as heavy combo-point generators (blackjack,
puncture, etc.)
3) We can create new special abilities that can only be used through the use
of combo attacks. For example a gladiator might be able to unlock some kind of
instant move regeneration. A mage might be able to unlock a double-cast for
some spell.
This will take a lot of coding for specific spells/abilities but I think in
the long run it could be worth it. Thoughts, ideas, feedback, input?
