Subject Upcoming Changes - 12/5/11
Hi everyone, I'm writing to let you know that starting today, we (the immortals) plan on being a bit more transparent as to what is going on and what to expect. This is being done for a few reasons. 1) As a mortal I remember thinking the IMMs were lazy and never did anything. This is partially due to the fact that they never shared any information. 2) It gives you players something to look forward to and an idea of what to expect to see in the near future. 3) It hopefully shows you that while we might not implement every idea you guys throw at us, we do take your input into consideration. We're slowly making some process changes internally that should help speed up the process of having things implemented. My intent is to keep a relatively up to date list of upcoming changes on the website, and I'll also periodically post things here on the news board. Please keep in mind that these aren't promised changes and they aren't promised time lines. We all have commitments IRL that come before Aarchon, and sometimes code/changes take longer to implement than expected. With all that said, here's a small list of what's being worked on. - Spiral area from several years ago will hopefully be rebuilt and brought back to life as a functional hero level zone that doesn't crash the MUD - Hellfire area will be QC'd and implemented as a leveling zone with some equipment as well - Namecolor will be removed from channels - Storage boxes / lockers will be introduced. They will hopefully replace storage characters for a small yet reasonable price. - Creation Points will be capped at 55 or 60 so that newbies don't create a character with 15k etl and quit because they can't hit level 2. - Various helpfile and cosmetic cleanup/changes for easier readability - Initiation zone will be improved upon to provide more important information to newbies (such as field exp and action command) - Druid class is being developed. Expect this to be a longer term project.
