Armor Class and Tattoos |
|
Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know that after Mircenary brought up an issue
about the help armor class help file, we spent a couple hours today
investigating everything and making sure AC worked properly.
I can confidently tell you that AC does work, however the formula in
help armor class is incorrect, and will be updated shortly.
To keep things short and sweet, your AC is divided by 10 when attacks
are calculated.
Additionally, AC is currently calculated as -5 AC = 1ops. To make AC
equal to all of the other stats in the game (such as hitroll), it should
actually be -10 AC = 1ops.
You might wonder what impact this will have on you. The answer is as follows:
AC tattoos now give -200 AC instead of -100 AC. The bonus for the
big AC tattoo is now -100 instead of -50.
This also means that items that give -AC will effectively have that
number doubled, as soon as we get around to making that change.
Items that give random stats will now have a chance to give even more -AC.
Chances are you won't notice much of a difference at all, unless
your character is loaded with AC tatts. If we find that this change
throws the entire game off balance then we'll spend more time
looking into it, but for now you can rest assured that AC does
work, and the tattoos have been fixed to make them equal to all of
the other tatts.
Sorry for the lengthy note.

P.S - When I said -AC will be effectively doubled, that does not mean your AC
will double. It only applies to items that give -AC as a stat. Not
the inheret AC from armor
