| Shield block is a rather fancy name for the art of parrying with a shield.
Characters with no shield block skill will not be able to defend themselves
well with a shield. Beware of whips, as these can get around shields fairly
easily due to their long reach. Holding a weapon or other item in your offhand
will drastically reduce you chance to employ your shield effectively.
The wrist shield skill offsets this penalty somewhat.
The percent command will show your current chance to block.
The base formula is (20 + skill/4)% or (10 + skill/4)% when worn as wrist shield,
subject to further reduction depending on the wrist shield skill.
