Syntax: riff
As a Bard plays a song they often have extra chords that they can insert into
the song to achieve a dissonant affect against their opponents. By using the
riff skill they can insert those chords into their current songs and do direct
damage to their opponent. The riff skill gets no other benefit from songs, but
does benefit subsequent wails.
Each riff adds hitroll to the Bard, up to a cap. The cap does not change, but
if singing a group song the hitroll bonus is applied to all group members. If
singing a solo song, the hitroll bonus is only applied to the Bard, but it will
reach the cap sooner.
The Bardic Knowledge spell will increase the move cost of riff.
The riff skill requires an instrument, and the damage of the Bard's riff is
dependent on the Bard's instrument skill.
