Tricksters are masters of deception and misdirection. While some chose to
travel around using their talents for entertainment, other seek to gain riches
by less honest means. By perfecting their illusions they manage to escape the
eye of most onlookers, or even their opponents in the heat of battle.
The deception stance helps a trickster to overcome not only physical defenses
(as finesse) but also mental ones, making his spells harder to resist. This
functions as inquisition, but only for mental spells such as confusion,
betray, fear, feeblemind, sleep and laughing fit.
The improved invisibility spell rendered the trickster invisible, but unlike
ordinary invisibility, this even functions during combat, and makes the
trickster harder to hit even by opponents who can see through ordinary
invisibility (granting -5 * (10 + level) AC).
