| Defilers draw energy from living things around them to fuel their arcane powers,
slowly destroying their environment in the process. The arrival of a defiler in
woodland areas often triggers elven warparties in a bid to preserve the land,
though most such efforts result in a necklace of pointy ears for the defiler.
The arcane defiling skill increases the caster level of all maledictions cast
by the defiler by (20+level)/5. This includes all hostile spells with a duration,
as well as energy drain.
