Aarchon MUD - Changes


Below is an index of (mostly) all of the changes we've made since the beginning of Aarchon. The changes are sorted in chronological order with the credits listed after each change. While most of the more current code changes were done by own immortal staff, many of the early changes included bug fixes and updates that were circulated throughout the community. We try our best to credit the original author(s) of the work.

460. Fixed a bug with carryover of spell affects after remort. (Bobble)

468. Fixed a loophole that allowed pkillers to flee during a pkill battle by attacking an NPC first. (Bobble)
469. Fixed a bug that reversed mobprog order during an OLC save. (Bobble)
470. Fixed a bug that reversed object affect order during an OLC save. (Bobble)
471. Fixed a bug that considered the primary weapon skill percentage for a secondary weapon hit. (Bobble)
472. Fixed a bug that reduced the chances for a successful Shield Block. (Bobble)
473. Fixed a bug in the skill check for the Tempest stance. (Bobble)
474. Fixed a bug with mobprogs greet triggers that occasionally causes an infinite loop. (Bobble)
475. Fixed a bug that can cause a warfare to be won before it starts. (Bobble)
476. Fixed a bug in the disarm logic for Wind War. (Bobble)
477. Fixed a bug allowing skills to go over 100%. (Bobble)
478. Alertness skill added. Enhances inherent ability to detect hidden. (Bobble/Drexl)
479. Evasive Action skill added and included in Martial Arts group. Increases chance of dodge of no weapon is wielded.
Note: Requires the dodge skill to operate. (Bobble)
480. Fatal Blow skill added, for fighter types. (Bobble)
481. Mana Shield spell added and included in Protective group. While active, this will apply part of damage taken
against mana instead of hp. (Bobble)
482. Mantra spell added and included in Enhancement group. This adds an extra attack while active. Note: This spell is
currently being evaluated, and is not available at this time to mortals. (Bobble/Drexl)
483. Two Handed Weapons skill added. (Bobble)
484. Enhanced the Aim skill to allow targetting of head, hand, or foot for different results. (Bobble/Quirky)
485. Enhanced the Chokehold skill to drain moves while choking, as well as to sometimes block spellcasting. (Bobble)
486. Removed the alignment change from the Angel Smite and Demonfire spells. (Bobble)
487. Protection from Good and Protection from Evil may now only be used by Evil and Good players, respectively. (Bobble/Drexl)
488. Removed good-alignment-only restriction for the Heroism spell. (Bobble/Drexl)
489. Changed the Hide skill to depend more upon the situation and on the viewer. (Bobble)
490. The Kung Fu skill has been modified to add a chop attack instead of another main attack. (Bobble)
491. The Meditation skill is now more effective, but only works while resting. (Bobble)
492. Changed the Shield Bash skill to not always stun the opponent, based on another check. (Bobble/Quirky)
493. The Tempest stance may now be begun during combat. (Bobble)
494. The Blade Dance stance no longer reduces the effectiveness of the player's Sanctuary spell. (Bobble/Drexl)
495. Lowered effects of vulnerabilities and resistances. (Bobble/Drexl)
496. Granted a 20% overall experience bonus to permanent pkillers. (Bobble/Drexl/Moloch)
497. Added a penalty for dying. One train's worth of hp/mana/moves will now be lost upon each death, if any of
these have been trained up. "Natural" hp/mana/moves gained thru levelling will not be lost. (Bobble)
498. Penalties for dying may now be avoided if the gods show you Mercy. Influenced by CHA and LUC, among other factors. (Bobble)
499. The experience loss penalty for dying from NPCs now applies to pkill deaths as well. (Bobble)
500. Pkill looting has been reduced. Only about 1/4 of items will be placed on the corpse. (Bobble/Drexl)
501. Changed the gain/loss of hp/mana/move calculations to be influenced by the current CON, WIS, and AGI stats respectively. (Bobble)
502. The effectiveness of training hp/mana/moves is now influenced by the current DIS stat. (Bobble)
503. Increased code restrictions to block kill stealing. (Bobble)
504. Magic weapons now split their damage across the magic damage type and a base damage type for the weapon's form factor. (Bobble/Moloch)
505. Mobs may now use stances. (Bobble)
